Company description Community Farm is a 2 acre mixed vegetable farm on the Community Hospital Anderson medical campus. Our mission is to engage patients and youth in programs and activities that promote the growth and consumption of wholesome, nutritious food. The produce is used by the hospital food service and distributed to partnering programs and community organizations. We also grow flowers for patients. We engage youth in education activities related to food, farming, beekeeping, and the environment. We use organic growing practices on the farm and most work is done with hand tools or walk-behind tractor. This will be Community Farm's third growing season, and we are looking forward to expanding our offerings with additional staff. You can see more about the farm on our instagram page @community_farm. Job description We are hiring a full-time seasonal farm assistant for mid-April thru October. In this position, you will assist with the day-to-day operations at Community Farm, including planting, maintenance, harvest, and distribution of vegetables and flowers. You will also engage with youth and adults in the community by distributing produce, sharing preparation information, and assisting with activities both on the farm and at community events. The farm is undergoing some big expansions in 2020, and fresh ideas are welcome!

Requirements: Must have experience working outdoors; farming experience is not required, but must be eager to learn. The ideal candidate has good attention to detail, works well on a team and independently, and is comfortable interacting with the public. Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.


Most hours will be between 7am-4pm, but some evenings and weekends may be required for events. This role is temporary seasonal, benefits eligible. Starts at $12/hr.
