Company description Established catering co. in central Vt with events on the calendar is looking for at the very least, a chef for the 2020 season and at most a successor to step in as the owner of 35 years implements her exit strategy.

With literally no marketing plan in place currently, our phone continues to ring and those leads would fall into your lap as well as a customer mailing list, a list of staff, phone number, web site and tons of catering equipment. Additional (optional) assets include a new Dodge Ram catering van, large catering props and of course a life time supply of platters and bowls! The good will and reputation for which we have become known is a given and will follow the name.

Moving forward there is so much more potential for a younger owner with the food to table movement and local Vermont products at their fingertips!

Although we are looking for a chef or potential buyer to have "some skin in the game", for the right individual there will be very little up front capital needed to step into the established structure of this existing catering business. We cater from one end of Vermont to the other, laying the ground work to continue from any part of the state. As an additional incentive, the state of Vt has a program to help people with their moving expenses as they move to the Green Mountain state.

As a seasonal chef not interested in owning, the job description includes all the typical head chef duties; ordering, prepping, keeping the kitchen. spotless and organized and executing each event whether it takes place on or off premises. Periodically we have two events on the same day with a second chef essentially picking up all the food for that event that the head chef has prepped and labeled for transport.
This position is great for the individual who appreciates the freedom to work independently, make your own hours and yet also has the ability to work well with others on the day of. There are times throughout the season that we all put in long hours and there are other times that things are quiet and you will actually see multiple days off in a row! Paid! business description Occasions Catering started as a home catering business and over the years included two restaurants and a linen rental service targeting special events. In time the restaurants have transitioned back to just the catering co and the linen rental service was separated into it's own corporation. We're ending our culinary career with the same philosophy with which it started...although catering requires long hours on event days, unlike the restaurant business, it allows you a certain amount of freedom to accept or decline jobs and as a family business, we most often were able to be home with our kids on school nights.

We always knew there was more financial opportunity in or near larger metropolitan areas, but we traded that for the beauty of Vermont and the small town life style we love.

Our family always had several businesses going at once  and we chose to step back at times for various reasons knowing that we were not maximizing the full potential of food and beverage potential.

Other catering companies in Vt have expanded and continue to grow, taking advantage of the farm to table movement, the great local product available and the number of "foodies" who either live here or frequent the state. With our office in Rochester and our current kitchen in Waitsfiled, we've come to think of our operation as being the hub of the wheel as we go North, South, East and West for off site catering and private chef dinners.
