Summer Farm Crew Beech Hill Farm

  • Date Posted February 26, 2020
  • Location Mount Desert, ME
  • Category Agriculture
  • Job type Summer Job
Company description

Beech Hill Farm is a MOFGA-certified organic farm on beautiful Mount Desert Island in Maine.  The farm is owned by College of the Atlantic, a small and innovative liberal arts school that is frequently ranked as the “greenest” college in the country.  The 73-acre property includes six acres of fields in vegetable production, six greenhouses, three small heirloom apple orchards, and open forest.

We grow over a hundred different varieties of vegetables, which in addition to feeding the college, we market through our busy farmstand, local restaurants and stores, and a 50-member CSA.  We strive to efficiently grow high quality produce, while also feeding the soil, stewarding the land, and having fun. The farm is largely surrounded by Acadia National Park, and there are incredible options nearby for hiking, swimming, paddling and so on.
