Company description The farm is located one hour south-west of Atlanta in beautiful Pine Mountain, Georgia.  Jenny and Chris Jackson, along with 5-6 farm hands, grow a generous variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers on 3 acres.

In order to protect the life of our soil, as well as the health of our customers and staff, we use no chemical fertilizers or pesticides to grow our produce. The farm is Certified Naturally Grown.

We farm to provide meaningful work for ourselves and to provide our customers with quality, naturally grown food.  The majority is grown for our CSA, which consists of 150 families. The rest is sold at our On Farm market and through a couple of restaurants. 2020 will be our 14th season. Job description We are experieced farmers eager to share our experiences, our farm, and the workload with folks who are seriously interested in small, sustainable farm production. We have 1 available position for the 2020 growing season, which runs March through December, 2020.
Comfortable 2 bedroom house provided for the worker, 12 minute drive from farm. Screened porch, wifi, quiet neighborhood.
Work will include: increasing soil fertility through mineral amendments and cover cropping, greenhouse work, transplanting, direct seeding, weeding, harvesting, and marketing through our On Farm Market and CSA.
 
-Desire to learn farming as a career or lifestyle is required. We want to work with folks who are serious about sustainable agriculture. Our main objective is to grow  the best quality food possible  for our 150 member CSA, and that takes a lot of hard, long hours. It also takes serious attention to the smallest details, so if you are just looking for a place to find yourself, or kind of interested in what farming may be all about, no need to apply.
 
 -Previous sustainable farming experience is required for this postion.
-Our ideal worker has a positive outlook on life and the ability to have fun and enjoy the work.

-Physical ability to carry out difficult and monotonous manual labor.
– Although we are a diversified operation, there are some tasks that are quite repetitive, such as weeding.

-Lots of energy and enthusiasm are needed!!

-The ability to work out in the heat/cold is necessary. It gets VERY hot and humid in Georgia in the summer, which sometimes lasts till October!

One can expect to work 45-55 hours a week with 2 days/week off. As a side note for days off, we are 1 hour south of Atlanta, 30 minutes from Columbus, and 10 minutes from Callaway Gardens and FDR State Park (hiking trails and camping).
