Girl Scouts San Diego is looking for a seasonal Food Services Supervisor to lead the overall food and dining service operations for our summer resident camp and weekend programs in beautiful Julian, CA.

Working in collaboration with the camp director(s), the Food Services Supervisor will be responsible for menu planning, purchasing, food preparation and service, sanitation, safety, staff oversight, customer service and record keeping.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage food and dining service operations to include coordinating activities between the kitchen, dining room and programs operating in the field.
  • Plan well-balanced, nutritious meals for campers and staff; prepare adequate meal substitutions for dietary needs including allergies, intolerances, and dietary regimens (i.e. vegetarian, vegan, etc.).
  • Order food to execute approved menus (and supplemental meals); check incoming food orders for quality and correct quantities, inform food service companies of any errors for refunds; keep records of food purchases during season, including refunds and discounts.
  • Coordinate food preparation with kitchen staff according to menu planning and dining service style; assist camp staff and campers with the planning, packing, and safe handling of food for special programs outside the dining hall.
  • Hire, supervise, train, coordinate, and evaluate all kitchen staff. Create shift schedules, assign tasks, evaluate, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Maintain kitchen and dining facilities with a high standard of cleanliness, sanitation and safety in compliance with state, American Camp Association, Girl Scouts and council standards.
Compensation this position is : hourly, $20/hr + Application instructions
