Summer Ops provides executive leadership, employer services, and back-office support to celebrated New York restaurants and bars, including Grand Banks, Island Oyster, and Pilot. It manages 300+ seasonal employees for its restaurant partners as well as year-round executive and engineering teams.

Summer Ops is looking for an Events Coordinator and salesperson to sell, plan and manage events across all of our restaurant properties. This is a unique opportunity in a rapidly growing hospitality group to gain exposure to a variety of event types, as well as gain insight into restaurant operations. Plus, you’ll get to spend your summer watching sunsets from some of New York’s most scenic venues! 

This position is seasonal, beginning in April 2020 and extending through October 2020.

• Desire to work outdoors, ability to work on a docked boat (does not get motion sick) 
• Passionate about hospitality, food, and wine 
• Interest and/or passion for the environment and sustainability a plus  

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Manage inbound event inquiries 
  • Monitor event email and phone line
  • Respond to client inquiries in a timely fashion
  • Answer questions about event capabilities  
• Help with event briefings and management 
  • Assist with managing events calendar 
  • Ensure that front of house and back of house staff are briefed ahead of events 
  • Help ensure that all event financials are properly recorded
• On-site event management
  • Help with on-site event activation for custom events, VIP events and full buyouts
• Office Management Assistance 
  • Ensure office supplies are kept up to date 
  • May be asked to help with misc office tasks such as deliveries, employee uniform distribution, and executive errands
