Rossi’s Rosticceria is a 40 year old family owned Poughkeepsie landmark. Voted best sandwich in New York, we are more than just an “old world” deli. We produce our products in house and operate a full service catering operation. We are currently going through an expansion, featuring a new 5000 square foot retail space, commissary kitchen and bake shop facility planned for a 2021 opening. 

We are looking for an ambitious and driven production cook. The ideal candidate will  be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team, will be quick, diligent and willing to improve on the job.

 Responsibilities

• Follow daily production sheets
• Label and store all ingredients on shelves as per instructed
• Follow recipes and guidelines for all food production
• Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by scrubbing down and sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
• Perform any other kitchen duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year experience required
• Solid knife skills
• Knowledge of all basic cooking techniques
• Able to operate all necessary kitchen equipment
• A team player with good communication skills
• Positive attitude, able to stay calm under pressure under pressure
• Ability to lift fifty pounds
• Flexible work schedule, able to work weekends
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Formal Culinary education preferred.
