The GIANT Heirloom Market (GHM) Partner demonstrates their commitment to our Values by performing the following behaviors under direction by the Assistant Store Manager or Team Leader:

Inspires customers by: 
  • Greeting them, making eye contact, smiling, and saying hello
  • Getting to know the customers/being part of the neighborhood
  • Educating self and other Partners about products to share this knowledge

  • Offering suggestions for meals and entertaining
  • Operating the self-checkout in an efficient manner, being respectful of customers' time

Prepares the GIANT Heirloom Market for customers by: 
  • Receiving, unloading, storing and verifying deliveries
  • Supervising the stocking shelves, rotation of product and the recording of shrink
  • Building engaging, informative merchandise displays
  • Creating inspirational food sampling programs
  • Exercising proper food handling procedures
  • Training and development of other Partners

 

 Participates with the Partners by: 
  • Being friendly, courteous and respectful of other Partners - having a positive attitude
  • Supports other Partners in daily job assignments and timely completion of tasks

Partner Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Primary accountability for specific functions and results.  The list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented or changed as necessary.  List by order of importance and continue on a separate page if necessary).

 

  • Maximize sales in the GIANT Heirloom Market (GHM) by maintaining superior store conditions, competitive awareness, implementation and maintenance of applicable sales/merchandising programs, effective ordering, shelf management and monitoring of all store deliveries.
  • Maintains performance standards and looks for ways to improve on processes or procedures
  • Control Nonperishable and Fresh shrink/gross profit, by ensuring proper product handling (i.e. rotation, coding, refrigeration, damage control, etc.), product receiving, pricing integrity and product ordering.
  • Adhere to the Company shrink control, gross profit enhancement and inventory control programs.
  • Maintain a safe environment for all customers and Partners by ensuring clean, orderly, appealing and hazard free sales and storage areas in each department by adhering to the Company’s safety, sanitation and merchandising policies and procedures. Demonstrate proper food safety and sanitation work habits.
  • Complies with all policies, procedures and laws as required by: Federal, State or Municipal Law (i.e. Weights and Measures, Health Department, OSHA, Human Rights, Consumer Protection, Wage and Hours, etc.). 
  • Ensure full compliance with Company procedures (i.e. Standard Operating Procedure Manual (S.O.P.) and Standards of Operation Manual)
  • Cultivate and maintain superior customer relations through polite and efficient handling of customer inquiries and complaints, attention to Partner appearance and behavior and maintaining service level standards.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (continued):

 

  • Foster harmonious Partner relations in the Total Store through active listening, performing and modeling of GHM values and beliefs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Team Leader or store management.
  • GHM Partners are trained to work in every area of the Market.
