As one of the first health food markets in the area, we have always focused on providing the highest quality, healthiest and most eco-friendly products for our customers. In November 2015, we downsized our original emphasis on retail going from selling 12,000 items to our current, 500 sku’s. We began to primarily focus on providing a comfortable, homey environment for customers to sit down and eat. We offer organic and natural foods along with artisanal, independently-owned and local companies. We make all our prepared foods from scratch using organic and sustainable ingredients. We take pride in supporting local farms. We love being a small, local, and inclusive community space as well as a market, cafe, and apothecary. Primary Responsibilities, but not limited to;
- Assist the Owner with all aspects of market coordination and administration;
- Promote a Positive Work Environment
- Help hire and train new employees
- Create Weekly Schedules
- Supervise all team members and volunteers during scheduled prep/market shifts;
- Assist with purchasing, tracking and maintaining inventory;
- Assist in developing and maintaining best practices for maximum efficiency and effectiveness;
- Manage and regularly update all social media accounts;
- Co-create and ensure implementation of safety and sanitation measures consistent with Agriculture Department.
- Ensure all administrative tasks and documentation are completed for each week
Qualifications:
- Experience With Square software; uploading and up keeping inventory
- Strong leadership abilities and initiative, quick decision-making and problem-solving abilities;
- Demonstrated capacity to create and/or improve upon organizational systems;
- Excellent time management skills, able to delegate tasks and mediate effectively;
- Experience in retail and food industry in NYC
- Familiar with the NYC client mind set
- Expertise with Online Food Delivery Platforms, such as Grubhub and Caviar
- Expertise with Square, Facebook, Instagram and other social media outlets
- Ability to work under pressure and in unconventional scenarios;
- Ability to multi-task and adapt quickly;
