Company description Obercreek Farm is a USDA Certified Organic farm located in the hamlet of Hughsonville in the Town of Wappinger, NY and has been in production since 2012. We grow diversified seasonal vegetables, flower, herbs and hops on plans maximizing our growing space through efficient and thoughtful growing techniques that require less land to achieve higher farm productivity and financial sustainability without compromising the health of our agricultural ecosystems and our farmers.

We serve a 100 member CSA, our onsite farm stand and several wholesale accounts in the Hudson Valley and New York City. We grow all of our certified organic produce and herbs on a total of 4 acres in rotation on a 14 acre property throughout the main growing season and utilize cover crops and compost to regenerate fields with the goal of not purchasing outside sources of fertilizers or organic amendments. Through the utilization of ½ acre of indoor production space, we are able to achieve continuous year round production to provide additional income for the farmers and farm for the benefit and enjoyment of our community. We are looking are looking for an organized, friendly, responsible and detail oriented individual to help with financial control, book-keeping and customer management of our certified organic vegetable farm and farm stand. While our farm is not large, it encompasses many working parts and specialized functions. This position will interface with all aspects of the business from our farmers to our retail sales at our farm stand to our commercial customers and distributors.

Responsibilities

  • Assist farmers in management of commercial accounts
  • Assist Farm Stand manager with sales, orders, on-line store
  • Work with farm owner to manage bank accounts and financial control
  • Interact with commercial and retail clientele
  • Keep customer records
  • Input data accurately into QuickBooks
  • Manage and monitor bank balances and cash
  • Report to farm owner

Skills

  • Competence in Quickbooks (Desktop and Online) and Square
  • Attention to detail and accuracy

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $17.00 to $20.00 /hour
