Company description We're a small farm on 13 acres located in NW Indiana.  We grow roughly 50+ varieties of produce on 1 acre for local grocery stores, a medium sized CSA, and farmstand.  25% of our growing is in high tunnels or cat tunnels.  Our farm is certified naturally grown and participates in various EQUIP opportunities. Job description We're looking for someone that is interested in small scale market-style farming.  Candidates will be working with a farm manager, another farm hand, and occasionally with our wash/pack crew. 

Majority of the time will be spent working in the fields.  We use various hand tools for majority of the work but have a sub-compact tractor available for larger jobs.  

We typically work Monday-Friday and a couple hours on Saturday.  Occasionally we'll work a weekend day to make up for a rain day during the week.  Expect to work 40-50 hours per week during the height of the season.

• Seed starting
• Working in high tunnels
• Transplanting & direct seeding
• Weeding - (by hand, silage tarp, flame weeding)
• Harvesting
• Washing & packing produce
• Cover cropping
• Taking field notes / journaling
• Light maintenance and construction
   

Requirements

• Knowledge of farming (min 1 year experience)
• 18+ years of age
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Valid drivers license (CDL not required)
• Ability to work in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow)
• Comfortable working independently 
• Ability to arrive to work on time
