Job description

Rutherford & Meyer is looking for a well-connected, aggressive, Regional Sales Manager to sell an amazing line of specialty deli items across the Eastern US.

You must live in one of the following markets: Chicago, NY/NJ, Boston, or DC. 

You will be responsible for working with our broker & distributor network; have one on one customer interaction; able to on board new customers; responsible for field merchandising execution in the region.

The Regional Sales Manager position will manage retail accounts geographically located in the East, Broker Relationships and play a key role in the expansion of the Rutherford & Meyer brand. This position reports to the US Sales Manager.
 

Responsibilities

  • Regional Sales Planning – Regional market analysis, creation of a strategic ninety (90) day plan and execution against the regional plan through sales quotas, forecasting and business development efforts
  • Effectively educate and develop brokers, motivating and directing them to help achieve objectives and in-store execution, required by the retailers (merchandising, pricing & promotional objectives).
  • Identify and target smaller regional accounts for market penetration (Tier 2 and 3 accounts) Increased penetration into existing business and gain new distribution in strategic accounts.
  • Drive velocities by managing promotional process from the planning stage, to development to execution, ensuring all retailers timelines are met and following with post promotional analysis and ROI measurements.
  • Establish and build strong relationships with retail buyers within the Eastern region
  • Participate in regional trade shows and demo opportunities as needed

 

Requirements:

  • You have 3-5 years of demonstrated success in East Coast regional sales, preferably in CPG industry with Account Management experience
  • You are relentlessly driven, self-motivated and goal-orientated
  • You have industry knowledge, contacts and experience working with external sales broker teams
  • Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to create and present consumer and customer centric sales data internally and to external clients.
  • High degree of organization and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Experience leading and working successfully with brokers.
  • Willing to travel up to 70% (including nights and weekends)
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Nielsen/IRI/Spins syndicated data, a plus.
