Through direct service youth programs and highly regarded training programs for adults, Ramapo has an impressive 98-year track record of working on behalf of young people, whose behaviors put them at risk of being relegated to the margins of their schools and communities.  At the heart of Ramapo’s work is the conviction that all people - children and the adults who care for and nurture them - seek the same things: to be in community, to learn, feel valued, and experience success.  Ramapo helps the adults in children’s lives, including educators and caregivers, see the behaviors they experience as challenging through the lens of meeting needs, developing skills and building community, and provides a set of tools for creating environments in which all children can experience success as they define it.

Ramapo’s programs include: Camp Ramapo, a residential summer camp in Rhinebeck, New York that serves over 550 children with a range of cognitive disabilities and behavioral challenges; The Staff Assistant Experience, a residential transition-to-independence program for young adults aged 18 to 25 with social, emotional, or learning challenges; Ramapo Retreats, short-term, adventure-based experiences for young people, educators, and community-based organizations, and; Ramapo Training, the component of the organization which brings the Ramapo approach to schools, youth service organizations and families through workshops, coaching and consultation.

Ramapo For Children is currently seeking a full time cook. The cook will work with the current team to provide three meals each day for our entire camp community during the school year and the summer months.

Desired Qualifications:

-Experience cooking for medium- large groups of people

-A love of cooking fresh food

-A desire to have fun!

40 hours per week

$45,000/year plus full benefits package

Weekends are a must.
