Company description SF New Deal (SFND), is a new nonprofit that provides financial relief to small businesses and addresses growing local food-insecurity. Our program keeps restaurants open (and their workers employed) by paying them to deliver meals to San Francisco’s most vulnerable residents: elders, people with pre-existing conditions, individuals and families living below the poverty line, people facing housing insecurity and homelessness. These groups, our neighbors, have been underserved for years, and the present pandemic has made their circumstances even more difficult. Since our launch on March 23rd, 2020, we’ve served over 400,000 meals in partnership with an intersectional coalition of community-based organizations and have disbursed over $4,200,000 back to small businesses here in San Francisco. SF New Deal is seeking a Content Marketing Manager, Digital & Social to manage the content & creative development, production and execution of brand assets that engage the community, donors and influencers across multiple platforms. 

 

The ideal candidate must have superb written skills and the ability to create different types of content perfectly curated to the channel and audience. We are looking for a highly organized content marketer who thrives in fast-paced environments and can roll up their sleeves to build, deploy and launch content initiatives quickly while also ensuring quality and complying with brand guidelines. You will own telling our unique story across all channels, handling everything from strategy to execution, content ideation, analysis and reporting. 
 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Work with Marketing Director (or, in their absence, the Executive Director and Director of Development) to plan, execute and schedule content for social, blog, email and digital channels 
  • Own development and management of a comprehensive, cohesive cross-channel editorial calendar and strategy to tell the SF New Deal story to a wide range of different audiences, including donors, philanthropists, foundations, city government, community partners, general public and influencers 
  • Work with broader Leadership, Development and Operations teams to develop content strategies to promote organizational news, fundraising goals, momentum, needs and other key initiatives across all channels 
  • Write a lot - blog posts, social media posts, email newsletters, short form shareable content, etc.  that resonates with our audience and drives engagement
  • Ownership of the following channels: 
    • Social: Develop and execute evergreen and short-term campaigns across all platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn). Monitor all social media activity and manage conversations across all platforms. Manage paid social campaigns from setup, execution, optimization and reporting
    • Blog: Execution of SF New Deal’s blog, identifying story opportunities, curation of blog content from executives and development of social media strategies to drive blog audience
    • Email: Execution of SF New Deal’s email marketing campaigns, including curating and generating timely and relevant content for weekly community newsletters
    • Digital: Work with partners to optimize and create content for paid media placements (Google Ads) 
  • Secure and coordinate volunteer copywriters, designers and photographers as needed to build out assets and ensure all deliverables align with SF New Deal brand voice and guidelines 
  • Develop a weekly reporting cadence that demonstrates the full-funnel impact of content initiatives
  • Help evolve our content strategy and work to identify new emerging content types and channels

 

Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience managing social and community communications that drive measurable results.
  • Competent in campaign planning and recommending strategies
  • Strong project management skills; ability to balance multiple projects at a time and self-prioritize workload
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively with remote team members
  • Flexible and proven ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with concurrent and competing deadlines
  • Relentlessly resourceful with a strong bias for action and willingness to roll up sleeves and get things done

The Ideal Candidate
  • Has a basic understanding of all digital media disciplines and how different channels work together in a campaign
  • Keen understanding of campaign metrics to set best practices and continuously improve campaigns, brand awareness and overall engagement and conversion
  • Solid content development and management experience, including the ability to optimize all forms of digital collateral to achieve strategic objectives and establish a competitive edge
  • Experience with Figma, Notion, and/or Airtable
