Seeking a Human Resources Coordinator!

As Kneaded Bakery is a woman-founded and operated artisan bread bakery in San Leandro. Our sourdough loaves, French baguettes, challah, and noshes nourish communities across the Bay Area at farmers' markets, independent grocers, and restaurants.

We are seeking a human resources coordinator to join our operations team. This position is based partially in San Leandro as well as from one’s home, and will be approximately 16-20 hours per week. Pay starts at $20 per hour and hours may increase over time. Our team is friendly, fun, and hard working. 

 

Primary duties

  • Schedule and conduct employee onboarding 
  • Assist with job postings and complete recruiting efforts 
  • Ensure all company policies comply with updates State and Federal regulations 
  • Research labor laws and benefits as needed (tips, meal break, etc)  
  • Assist with a smooth reviews and evaluations process 
  • Be available for employee HR or organizational questions 
  • Write and organize AKB policies and communicate them clearly to staff 
  • Ensure all State and Federal posting requirements are up to date and displayed
  • Connect with staff regularly (through various means) to ensure standards and policies are being upheld 
  • Assist with payroll to track benefits or other HR programs 
  • Schedule and manage offboarding procedures for all employees 
  • Liaise with our human resources consultant agency when needed
  • Manage employee benefits program and be a resource for staff 
 

Must have:

  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures
  • Basic knowledge California employment laws
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional and discreet manner
  • Positive, professional demeanor, with a can do attitude
  • Focus on approachability and and customer service
  • Ability to maintain a prompt, reliable schedule
Compensation this position is : hourly, $20/hr + Application instructions
