AMIE Bakery is a small, specialty retail bakery on Cape Cod in the quaint village of Osterville, MA. We are an award-winning bakery capturing the Best of Cape Cod title for six consecutive years. We bake from scratch in small batches using whole, high-quality ingredients. Job description

Looking for a pastry chef to create and oversee all pastry production. Looking for someone who is creative and can be flexible to work in a high-volume pastry operation while keeping on top of production, anticipating needs, and be efficient at managing customer orders, and oversee ordering of ingredients while watching waste and costs. This position requires attention to detail, with the ability to work quickly and precisely. Must be willing to work holidays and weekends.  Full-time, year-round position. Opportunities to create new menu items and expand our pastry offerings. We've won Best of Cape Cod six consecutive years and we are expanding our brand and always looking to refine and evolve our pastries offerings to uphold our reputation for offering the favorites but create other unique, high-quality products. Our team is hard working but fun group which makes the environment pleasant and fosters creativity. 

Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • Pastry diploma from culinary school or equivalent work experience; ServSafe certification a plus.
  • 1-2 years professional kitchen experience in scratch baking 
  • Responsible for production baking, scaling and mixing batters and all doughs from scratch, forming tarts, croissants, brioche, entremets, and cookies. Ideally, candidate will have some bread, donut, and pizza experience.
  • Able to produce consistent results and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Cakes: Bake, tort, assemble, make buttercream, and decorate layer cakes as well as work with gum paste, modeling chocolate, fondant, and are willing to learn new, cutting edge cake techniques. 
  • Ability to follow recipes, instruction, work neatly, excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Manage kitchen, handle daily inventory, and be responsible for ordering and costing/adhering to budget as well as maintain an orderly, clean kitchen
  • You must be reliable, have a strong work ethic, and be willing to wear many hats and have the ability to lift up to 50#
