AMIE Bakery is a small, specialty retail bakery on Cape Cod in the quaint village of Osterville, MA. We are an award-winning bakery capturing the Best of Cape Cod title for six consecutive years. We bake from scratch in small batches using whole, high-quality ingredients. Along with traditional pastries, cakes, and cookies, we serve savory items for breakfast as well as homemade soups and sandwiches. Job descriptionLooking for a cake decorator who is creative and devoted to providing the best customer service and highest quality product possible! This is a fast-paced position that requires attention to detail, with the availability to work quickly and precisely. Must be willing to work holidays and weekends. Some long shifts are required. Full-time, year-round position.
Duties & responsibilities:
- Assist in bakery production; baking, scaling, and mixing batters and all doughs from scratch in large quantities
- Maintain proper pars on all dry scaled and pastry items
- Manage cake case and ensure there are full cakes and cupcakes available at all times
- Manage all upcoming cake orders and ensure they are completed on time to bakery standards
- Maintain quality control on all products to ensure they meet bakery standards
- Team player and shop ambassador with customers
- Must follow AMIE Bakery cake guidelines and standards for all cakes
- Fully assembling cake, cupcake, and cookie orders for the day
- Able to decorate cakes with trending buttercream decorations
- Opportunities to contribute new cake flavor ideas
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/Pastry diploma from culinary school or equivalent work experience. ServSafe certification a plus.
- Must have professional kitchen/baking experience (scratch baking)
- Must be able to lift up to 50 #
- Must have experience fully decorating cakes with buttercream and fondant - training will be available
- Cookie decorating experience with royal icing is a plus
- Must have the ability to read and follow recipes and standards charts
- Must be able to work early mornings and weekends
- Must be organized and able to accurately read our cake order forms and execute accordingly.
