Malai is looking for a professional and customer service-oriented Retail Manager to oversee daily operations at our store, events, markets and fairs and e-commerce. As the Retail Manager, you will supervise the operational and organizational standards of the retail operations, and maintain the highest levels of integrity to implement the company culture. Your duties will include analyzing metrics, hiring and training front of house and event staff, monitoring online orders, manage fulfillment of e-commerce orders, undertaking administrative tasks, monitoring inventory levels, design systems for store upkeep, and developing business strategies to improve sales.

The ideal candidate must be able to improve customer satisfaction and meet monthly sales goals, while keeping the front of house, event and fulfillment team on target and motivated. In addition to being an excellent communicator, you should also demonstrate outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver excellent customer service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction

  • Motivate the team to meet sales objectives by training and mentoring staff

  • Create business strategies to attract new customers, expand store traffic, and enhance profitability

  • Hire, train, and oversee new staff

  • Respond to customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner

  • Ensure store compliance with health and safety regulations

  • Develop and arrange promotional material, social media and in-store displays

  • Prepare detailed reports on buying trends, customer requirements, and profits

  • Undertake store administration duties, such as managing budgets, and updating financial records

  • Monitor inventory levels and order new items

  • Manage the e-commerce channel and the fulfillment of all orders


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification

  • A minimum of 3 years experience working in a food retail environment, ideally in a managerial role

  • Strong leadership and customer management abilities

  • Customer service-oriented with an in-depth knowledge of basic business management processes

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • NYC Food Handler's Permit
  • Valid Drivers License
