Job description

The Delivery Driver reports directly to the Product Supervisor. The Delivery Driver’s primary duties are distribution and merchandising of fresh and packaged food products to store clients by delivering, restocking and rotating products, removing any expired or damaged products, taking inventory and resolving any service issues. 

 

Roles/Responsibilities

 

Daily:

  • Responsible for submitting accurate daily delivery roster to accounting
  • Review and request updates to invoices if necessary
  • Liaise with production team and different vendors for daily and weekly production
  • Transfer inventory to/from production facility, restaurants, office, and cold storage
  • Load van with correct amount of products for delivery based on invoices
  • Deliver to customers, stock and rotate product, return and replace expired product
  • At end of day unload van, clean and prep for the next day
  • Use proper storage and transportation practices (temperature, safety, etc)
  • Maintain office recommended inventory levels, proper storage and rotation
  • Keep storage areas clean and organized 
  • Adhere to all safety and health guidelines
  • Other duties as requested by supervisor or director
 

Weekly:

  • Maintain sales relationships with retail buyers regarding product placement, sales, quality, etc.
  • Perform weekly product inventory and input into spreadsheet
  • Attend weekly product and marketing meeting
  • Other duties as requested by supervisor or director
 

Minimum Qualifications

  • California Driver’s License, with a clean driving record
  • Must possess proficient verbal and written communication skills
 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted
  • Desire to learn about the Natural Foods products space
  • Previous experience in retail or foodservice beneficial
