Company description Daybreak Growers Alliance is a women, farmer-owned distribution company based in Unity, Maine. We work with over 40 Maine farms and food companies to distribute their products to CSA members and wholesale customers. Job description DGA Delivery Driver
DGA is a women farmer owned distribution business that seeks to create markets for over 40 Maine family farms and food producers. The delivery driver is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, efficient and timely distribution of our farm shares and wholesale orders throughout the State of Maine. Furthermore, this position is the primary physical interface with customers. Interaction with customers has been minimized with COVID 19 safety precautions in mind, however, it is important the person in this position is professional, friendly and knowledgable about DGA when interacting with customers. 
 
Job duties include:
 
  • Loading and driving a box truck, ensuring that orders are checked against pack lists and all complete orders are on board before departure.
     
  • Delivering farm fresh produce throughout the State of Maine.
     
  • Ensuring quality upon delivery.
     
  • Backhauling orders.
     
  • Navigating using your smartphone for GPS and ensuring optimum efficiency and safety on routes. 
     
  • Accurate delivery of orders to customers. 
     
  • Diligently wearing gloves whenever you touch product.
     
  • Diligently wearing a mask when delivering.
     
  • Sanitizing the vehicle after every shift.
     
  • Being responsible for roadside assistance and towing in the event it is needed. (DGA insurance covers these roadside services.)
     
  • Reporting driving hours daily, using GoogleSheets for time tracking and recording in written log kept in vehicle.
     
Qualifications:
Please note: This position is located in Unity, Maine. As a delivery driver, you will start your shift at our warehouse. You must have reliable transportation to our headquarters. This position requires a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. A CDL license is not required for this position.

Hours and Compensation: Average of 30-35 hrs (weekly) through December. 20-30hrs (bi-weekly) January through May, with the potential for added hours assisting in our warehouse. Hourly pay for driving is $16/hr. Employee discount on all food products we distribute.
 
WEEKLY SCHEDULE
Driving schedules are listed below. This position is expected to report to our headquarters by the time listed below. Schedules will vary from time to time. We ask that this position be available by text or phone from 9am-5pm Monday through Friday and occasionally on weekends. A half hour paid lunch is included in route schedules on days exceeding 5 hour shifts. 
 
MONDAYS: 2-6pm, as needed
TUESDAYS: 12PM to 5:30pm
WEDNESDAYS: 8:00am to 4pm
THURSDAYS: 8:00am to 2pm
FRIDAYS: 9:00am-4:00pm
