Job description

The Kombucha Shop is on the lookout for a positive, motivated, and hardworking Brewery & Warehouse Associate to join our team at our Madison, WI headquarters. This is a full time position (Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm), with pay starting at $15/hour. The position includes a paid 35-minute lunch, a paid 15-minute break, 8 paid holidays, and a monthly wellness reimbursement. 

 

Mission: 

The mission of this position is to brew and harvest kombucha cultures and pack and ship kombucha kits and supplies to keep up with the demands of future home-brewers, all while maintaining a clean, organized, efficient, and positive working environment.

 

The position requires attention to detail and the flawless execution of repetitive tasks. This job is unique, with time being shared between the kombucha brewery and the fulfillment warehouse (same location). An average day will include everything from fulfilling orders, packing products on the line, receiving inventory, brewing kombucha, harvesting kombucha cultures, cleaning, and washing equipment.

 

Job Responsibilities and Working Conditions: 

  • Package products to the highest degree of quality 
  • Perform daily tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures
  • Receive deliveries and unload products
  • Operate pallet jack
  • Use box cutters
  • Clean and maintain all equipment and inventory
  • Promptly report all maintenance or damage information to management
  • Maintain a tidy work environment
  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per day
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Work in a hot, cold, and occasionally loud environment

Desired Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Previous experience in food production, manufacturing, pick and pack, or brewery
  • Detail-oriented and organized with an ability to work independently
  • Ability to understand both written and oral instructions is essential, as many of your daily tasks will be written on a whiteboard, and written recipes will need to be followed. Our warehouse can get loud, and it's important that you can pick up on verbal instructions from a reasonable distance, with background noise.
  • Team-oriented, and able to maintain positive relationships with fellow crew members
  • Exhibits patience at all times
