The Agriculture Development Division seeks a highly motivated individual to provide fund oversight of the newly awarded USDA Dairy Business Innovation Center and will lead the Division’s grants and contracts team. The Vermont-Northeast DBIC is currently funded with $6.5 million dollars and supports the dairy sector through grants, technical assistance, and research focused on new ideas, diversification, and expanding markets.  

The Grants and Contracts Administrator will work directly with multiple members of the Development Division and the Business Office to execute the following activities: developing grants and contracts that meet federal and state guidelines; provide supervision to the existing grants and contracts staff; and, assist in financial reporting to provide programmatic oversight and accountability. Additionally, this position will provide leadership in managing the grants management system (WebGrants) and grants and contracts process improvement efforts. The ideal candidate will have experience with WebGrants or other cloud-based grant management systems, fund management and oversight, staff supervision, and remote working arrangements. This position requires exceptional written and oral communication skills, a strong ability to collaborate, and time management capabilities to manage multiple competing priorities. 

As a Limited Service Position, this position is only funded through the duration of the USDA grant, currently due to expire in September 2023 but with the potential to be extended through 2026. Currently all VAAFM staff are working remotely through December 31, 2020. This position’s primary duty station will remain located in Montpelier and candidates should expect to be physically in Montpelier several days per week when the State of Vermont deems it safe to return to the office.  

Compensation this position is : hourly, $20/hr + Application instructions
