Job description

PRODUCTION MANAGER POSITION AVAILABLE:

 Stachowski Meats is looking for an enthusiastic production manager that understands the dynamic pace of a small fast-growing food brand and is energized by the opportunity to grow with Stachowski Meats.

 The Production Manager is responsible for the production process including production staff oversight, food safety, regulatory compliance, and equipment maintenance. This person ensures the product is produced safely, at optimum quality, is cost-effective, on time and at proper quantity levels by managing employees, materials, and resources. Experience with SSOPs, USDA, HACCP plans is a plus.

 

This role offers the unique opportunity to train under our current production manager/ owner and focus on special projects including HACCP and Quality Manuals and potentially a production facility move. Understanding of meat production and food science is a must.

Responsibilities Include: ·

Oversee Production Personnel: Scheduling, hiring, and firing of production employees with Owner. Planning and organizing production schedules. Re-negotiating timescales or schedules as necessary. Oversee daily operations of production personnel, review performance and set yearly goals and objectives. Create a motivating work environment for production employees.

 

Production Employee Safety: Responsible for the safety, health, and environment of all manufacturing employees as well as the strict enforcement of all applicable regulations and rules. · Oversee production processes with a focus on safety and efficiency. Ensure on-time and accurate production of a released product for all required volumes while looking to improve efficiencies and reduce costs. ·

 

Food Safety and Quality: Determining safety and quality control standards and ensure those standards are met. Conduct trainings with workers as necessary. Participate in HACCP team, reviews, audits. Maintain quality and safety standards and implement plans to correct issues when identified. Ensures employees and procedures comply with state and federal guidelines. Be the primary liaison with USDA inspectors ·

 

Raw Materials Management: Responsible for selecting, forecasting, and ordering raw materials inventory and maintaining in stock of inventory. ·

 

Production Equipment Maintenance: Oversee selection, installation, operation, and maintenance of production equipment with assistance of production lead. Organize the routine inspection, maintenance of production equipment. Handle emergency repairs. ·

 

Forecasting and Inventory Management: Liaising with order processing and business staff to forecast production needs. Track final production and inventory disposed in inventory management system. ·

 

New process implementation: Oversee the implementation of new production processes that deliver new products, increase efficiency and higher quality output.  Manage goal setting and goal measurement by developing and tracking key performance indicators (KPI)

 

Job Location: Washington, DC Metro

 

Compensation: Commensurate with experience.

 

Required Education: College graduate preferred Required

 

Experience: 3+ years food production experience, meat production preferred

 

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

  • Work/direct others
  • Monday to Friday 6:00 am to End of shift
  • Must be able to stand/walk for 9-10 hours per day.  50 hours
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to bend, twist, stoop, and squat, reach above shoulders as needed for day to day responsibilities and other miscellaneous duties.
  • Ability to work at heights that are above ground level.
  • Must be able to work in temperatures of 40 degrees or less.
  • Must be able to work overtime, during peak production periods.
