Farmer Mark operates certified farmers' markets that provide a platform for local farmers and artisan food & craft purveyors to sell directly to the public. We are committed to providing each of our markets’ local neighborhoods with top-quality products in an inviting community gathering space.

We currently operate the following weekly, year-round markets:

Costa Mesa (Saturdays, 9-2),
Newport Beach (Sundays, 9-1)
Playa Vista (Saturdays 9-2), and
Westwood Village (Thursdays 12-5)

Job description Farmer Mark is hiring a market manager responsible for market operations, including set-up and takedown, at our year round farmers' markets located in Costa Mesa and Newport Beach. Be part of the local food system by connecting local farms to local residents!
 

Position Description

• Approximately 9 hours per Saturday to start. Some Sunday work and additional at home work hours also possible.
• Inherent farmers’ market “perks” (lots of fresh fruits and veggies, farms tours, gaining an intimate knowledge of where your food comes from).
• This position is W2. It does not come with benefits.
• Must be available each Saturday (6:30am-4:00pm).
• Will train.

• Trustworthy, dependable and hardworking people-person.
• Detail-oriented.

• Reliable transportation to get to work on time.

Job Responsibilities

• Market set up and break down. Including setting up and breaking down tents, tables, chairs, and other market supplies as needed.
• On-Site Management. Remain onsite during market hours (outside, must be able to handle the elements as we are a rain or shine year-round market).
• Vendor and Customer Relations. Assist the planned market activities and communications with vendors and customers.
• Capable of lifting 40 pounds.
• Communicate and report directly to Operations Manager.
