Company description We are a literary-themed craft cocktail bar in Baltimore, Maryland. Each season, we base our cocktail menu around a single work, or collection of works from one author. Our Fall/Winter menu this year is centered around Grimm's Fairy Tales. We are a scratch bar, and make all our tinctures, bitters, infusions, and carve our own ice. We work closely with local growers and makers to source many of our ingredients and garnishes. The Bluebird Cocktail Room is hiring front-of-the-house managers: both full-time and part-time positions are available. This job offers quite a lot to the right person. Job responsibilities include all aspects of managing the floor during service, starting with leading a focused and productive set-up. During service the floor manager will be present and engaged, ensuring that all systems are in full force, the staff is performing their duties effectively and pleasantly, and that the room is hospitable and in good order. Floor managers are also responsible for some administrative work such as onboarding new employees and calculating and recording tips for each service.

The successful candidate will first and foremost be a strong and graceful leader, working with the staff to facilitate the best experience for our guests. We are looking for folks who are efficient and organized, who have an eye for detail and a commitment to the smooth and effective execution of service. The person who is the right fit for this job will be warm and empathetic, positive and encouraging while holding themselves and their staff to the highest standards.

We are looking for someone with a knowledge of craft cocktails and experience working in some capacity at a scratch bar. While some management or leadership experience is required, we are not opposed to speaking with someone who is just starting out in the world of management, assuming they are confident, accomplished, and ready to take on new challenges. We are also happy to speak with more seasoned managers, as long as they are enthusiastic and fresh, and ready for new projects.

We are currently hiring floor managers, but the position could become more for the right person. Experience with and an interest in graphic design and social media are a plus, but not required.
