As a member of our growing team, you will plant and maintain a number of home vegetable gardens. We will provide you with the knowledge and tools necessary to ensure your assigned gardens are productive, healthy, and beautiful. You will communicate with clients and coworkers in person, over the phone, and through email to instruct, answer questions, and ensure expectations are met. Days can be long and challenging. However, we cultivate a supportive work environment and like to have fun, too.
Gardening and/or farming experience is a plus, but is not required. Homefront Farmers is committed to education and our experienced staff will share their knowledge with you through mentorship and weekly lessons.
Requirements:–A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn
–A desire to work outside in all conditions (rain, cold, heat etc.)
–The ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 40lbs
–A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Employees will use their personal vehicles to haul plants and supplies to gardens (mileage will be reimbursed)
–A willingness to work as part of a team, independently, or teaching small groups as necessary
–Excellent written and verbal communication skills
–A passion for organic gardening and sustainability
