Blue Hill at Stone Barns is located within the Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture, a working four-season farm and educational center just 30 miles north of New York City that continues to help guide it in its mission to create a consciousness about the effect of everyday food choices.
Sourcing from the surrounding fields and pasture, as well as other local farms, Blue Hill and Blue Hill at Stone Barns are now open for indoor dining. We also offer resourcED to-go boxes filled with produce, meat and fish from our farming and fishing partners.

Job descriptionA junior graphic designer will be ready to develop their existing skills by working with the design director on a range of innovative projects. They are responsible for helping to drive the entire creative process, and an understanding of typography, layout, InDesign and Illustrator is needed to help the team produce the best work possible. Communication and curiosity is a big part of the job, and the junior designer must feel confident enough to contribute as part of a creative team.
Responsibilities
The specific details of a junior designer’s role will vary depending on the project, but common activities include:
- Offering input to creative meetings and sharing ideas
- Producing attractive and effective designs for all media
- Communicating with senior team members to receive feedback
- Liaising effectively with other team members
- Supporting the team throughout the execution of campaigns and projects
- From time-to-time a junior designer may need to work hours that aren’t typical, so a flexible approach is needed to get the best from the job
Requirements
A junior designer needs a wide range of design and creative capabilities. These include:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Adeptness with leading design software packages
- Some creative industry experience is a plus
- The ability to meet deadlines in a high pressure environment
- The ability to see projects through from inception to production
- Consistency regardless of project size
- Good organizational skills that support the rest of the team
- The motivation to maintain and improve design standards
- The willingness to listen to feedback and use it to improve
- Commitment to following all company safety protocols, which include undergoing pre-shift health screenings, weekly precautionary COVID-19 tests, daily health questionnaires, and use of PPE as required
