We operate out of a shared kitchen space in Sausalito. Job description The Head Baker will work 5 shifts each week and be solely responsible for bread production and shaping pastries. This will include managing levain feedings, mixing, shaping, and baking our small variety of sourdough batards (about 200 loaves total twice a week). There are two bread mixing and shaping shifts, two baking shifts, and one pastry shaping shift each week. This position is largely independent and will have very little oversight.
An important note: This position would start January 6th, and would run through May 2021 (potentially longer if desired). You should be willing and able to commit to working through May.
Hours and days will be:
Wednesdays (Mix) 6am-2pm
Thursdays (Bake) 1am - 8am
Fridays (Pastry) 6am-2pm
Saturdays (Mix) 6am-2pm
Sundays (Bake) 1am-8am
Note: The exact length of each shift may vary depending on workload that week, but tend to run between six and eight hours.
We are looking for a person who is, first and foremost, reliable and willing and able to show up consistently and on time. We are looking for a baker with at least 2 years of full time experience. This job suits those who are used to an athletic pace and working independently and managing their time efficiently. Applicants should be able to work well in a shared space with other team members.
Pay is $25/hour, plus a bonus at the completion of the term. Compensation this position is : hourly, $20/hr + Application instructions
