Internship description

Are you a creative type with a knack for social media? Love TikTok and Instagram and want to put your skills to good use helping the environment? Then you're exactly who we need!

 

Roots Down is looking for a fun, creative student for a paid internship managing our TikTok and Instagram accounts to get the message out about our Grower Network and #GreenHive. So, if you want to learn more about the regenerative and urban ag space, all while honing your social media chops, apply below! 

 

Here are the deets:

 

Internship period: 4 months

Internship Hours: 10-15 hours / week

Start Date: February 2021

 

This is a remote position, so access to reliable internet, computer, etc. are super important. You'll be in regular contact with the Chief Marketing Officer and Content Director through the company Slack channel, and weekly content meetings.

 

Your Tasks:

 

  • Work with the CMO and Content Director to craft compelling, witty, and informative visual content for TikTok and Instagram inline with the brand strategy;

  • Do keyword research and create a list of power words we can use on social media;

  • Post to accounts on schedule;

  • Deliver weekly reports to the marketing team on performance and key metrics.

 

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of university, community college, or art school;

  • Experience in using TikTok and Instagram;

  • Some familiarity with business communication tools like Slack and Google Suite.

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong editorial and grammar skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Organizational, prioritization, time management skills

  • Baseline understanding of marketing principles is helpful

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

  • Quickly understand and use new tools

 
Compensation this position is : hourly, $15/hr +
