Work at Woven Roots Farm is diverse and often includes greenhouse production, soil preparation, field crop planting, weeding, maintaining, and harvesting.  Employees are often called upon to do different jobs in all kinds of weather. This position will require some hard physical labor, creativity, and patience.

Job description We Are Actively Seeking Field Crew For The 2021 Farming Season!

Farming is production work. The farm earns money from what is actually produced and sold. Since production per hour or day is very important, employees are expected to work quickly and efficiently, to be able to lift 50 lbs, to keep up with the pace set by the employers, or work efficiently on their own. Producing food for our community is a team effort.
 

We count on each other and must earn each other’s respect and trust. Employees should hold each other accountable for their work. Employees are also encouraged to figure out how to do things better and to make observations, innovate, and discuss these possibilities.


Components Of The Job:
  • Daily physical fieldwork, including greenhouse seeding, soil preparation, planting, row-covering, weeding, harvesting, washing, and packing
  • Working outside in all weather conditions
  • Heavy lifting of 25-50 pounds
  • Working with others in a crew, as well as individually
  • Taking and following verbal and written instruction
  • Flexible work schedule, with hours ranging from 30 hours/week in the Spring and Late Fall to 50 hours/week in the Summer

Desired Skills:
  • Experience working outside
  • Ability to appropriately balance speed and quality of work
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to follow directions
