Production Assistant Moustache Coffee Club

  • Date Posted March 03, 2021
  • Location Portland, OR
  • Category Production
  • Job type Full-Time
Company description Moustache Coffee Club is a specialty coffee subscription company. We want everyone to enjoy incredible coffee every time they brew, so we focus on shipping fresh, high-quality coffees from around the world to our members' homes. We roast in the Nordic style, a form of light-roasting that minimizes smoky, bitter flavors to emphasize each single-origin coffee's unique, bright, and sweet flavors.  Job description

Our service only works if our beans are not only well-sourced and well-roasted, but well-packed and shipped on-time with care. We've opened up a new roasting space in NE Portland, and we're looking for a dependable, ambitious production associate to join the team and help sustain the growth of the club.

The Role:

The primary responsibility for the Production Associate is of course production: printing and organizing shipping labels and materials, weighing out roasted coffee and packing orders to ship to our members. It's repetitive, detail-oriented work that requires a keen eye - the ability to stay organized and create a solid workflow for the space is important. Other PA duties include managing day-to-day warehouse operations like regular cleaning, tracking our material inventory, assisting with receiving shipments, things like that. The goal is for the PA to be our go-to person for all things warehouse-and-shipping related.

The PA will also train on our state-of-the-art Loring coffee roaster, and will learn some production coffee roasting. No previous coffee experience is required, (we're happy to teach you), but an interest and willingness to learn are essential. Eventually, we'd love for the PA to be able to jump in and help out with roasting, coffee QC, and other specialty-coffee-related tasks as needed.

The PA will also handle customer service correspondence with our members via email (order inquiries and adjustments, shipping address changes, subscription cancelation requests, that sort of thing) so a friendly demeanor, problem-solving and typing skills are a big plus. We can teach you how to use all the specific web stuff we use (ZenDesk, etc.) but having a good rapport with members is the most important bit.

Schedule:

35-40 hrs/week M-F. (Currently, we're roasting two days per week at 7am. The other days, we shoot for a normal 9-5.)

Job Requirements:
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to read/write fluently in English
- Interest in specialty coffee
- Organizational skills

Desired Traits:
- Attention to detail
- Promptness
- Initiative
- Cleanliness
- Positive attitude
- Reliability
- Ability to work well solo

Compensation this position is : hourly, $15-20/hr Application instructions
