Located on the banks of the Neshaminy Creek in Doylestown, PA, Castle Valley Mill is a fully operational 1800s grist mill. We’ve combined antique technology and basic mechanical engineering with modern packaging and processes to produce fresh, locally sourced flours, meals, and clean berry grains. Ground slowly and at cool temperatures on antique buhr mills, the flavor, nutrients, and wholesome goodness of the grain is preserved, leaving a natural, healthy, flavorful product that we distribute all over the Northeast region.
Job description
By working at Castle Valley Mill, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in the real local food economy. The Production and Packaging Miller’s Assistant will be responsible for packing the product, operating and maintaining the packaging machinery, order fulfillment, inventory and product reports, and end-of-day cleanup. It is a fast-paced, dynamic and unique work environment where you can experience being a part of a fast growing agrobusiness. We are looking for a dedicated, hard-working individual who is thorough and observant, with good organizational and problem-solving skills.
Compensation this position is : hourly, $15-20/hr Application instructions
Qualifications
Required
- Keep a safe, clean and organized packing space
- Meet deadlines
- Timely and dependable, with a reliable form of transportation
- Work efficiently and unsupervised
- Fast learner
- Task-oriented and attentive to detail
- Communicate effectively
- Lift at least 50# and perform various physical tasks
- Comfortable working on your feet in a loud and dusty environment for 8 hours at a time
Preferred
- Experience with farm equipment/machinery
- Forklift certification
- Ability to drive manual vehicles
