 Black Rock Orchard is seeking a worker who can work at market and at Black Rock Orchard. Worker would sell fruit for Black Rock Orchard at one of our farmers markets in the DC metro area and work at Black Rock Orchard doing general orchard field work.  
 
   This job would be a combination of market work (1-2 days) and field work on the farm (2-3 days).  The market work responsibilities include driving the orchard truck to market (2-hour drive) setting up our market stand and selling the fruit.   Worker would do orchard field work at Black Rock Orchard in Lineboro, MD.    This job is also listed as a part time job.  We would consider either for a suitable candidate.
 
   The field work responsibilities include general orchard field work, working with the other orchard workers doing any required task.   General farm work tasks include working in the specialty tomato greenhouses (pruning, harvesting), picking fruit, weeding, sorting fruit, loading trucks, etc.
     This position includes both market work and orchard field work.  Candidate must be capable of doing both parts of the job.  No housing is available.  Must be able to commute to Lineboro, MD in Carroll County.  (45 minutes nw of Baltimore). 

Job requirements include:

• Ability to drive box truck (USA driver’s license and driving history required),
• excellent physical condition,
• Demonstrated experience or interest in Agriculture.
• Communication skills
• Vaccination for Covid is necessary (when available)

    Black Rock Orchard is a drug free and tobacco free workplace.  Tobacco use is toxic to greenhouse tomatoes.  No vaping of any kind at the orchard or market.  

    This position will start in April or May end in November, 2021.  It is possible that we would have a full-time year round position available at that time.

    We may be flexible with the start day (not past June) for the right candidate.  The part time position is $17.25/hour.  The f/t position is the same but includes 2.5 hour overtime for 42.5 work week.
