Job description About the role

Reporting to the VP Finance, and working closely with the CFO and CEO, the Strategic Finance Director will be the lead partner for the Operations, distribution & warehousing functions at Weee! The role is part of the core finance leadership team and has a unique opportunity to define the partnership model for finance in support of the Operations, distribution and warehousing teams.

Responsibilities 
  • Articulate the vision and roadmap for the function, and build the team
  • Lead the planning and forecasting process for the Ops team in conjunction with Ops leadership
    • Interpret past performance and manage monthly reviews
    • Support Ops leadership in mgmt review cycles
  • Reducing operating expenses to improve profitability,
    • Analyze cost drivers, impact and identify risks and opportunities
    • Lead inventory planning and analysis including monitoring turnover and volume in conjunction with the Supply Chain team. 
    • Support annual physical inventory counts
  • Track performance to improve cost efficiencies
    • Serve as the key finance leader and partner for the Ops leadership team to identify and drive cost and efficiency throughout the P&L
Qualifications

This is an exciting role, defining and leading the Strategic finance function in a high growth environment. The right leader will have excellent quantitative and oral persuasive skills and have the credibility and emotional intelligence to navigate a diverse work environment and business while building a strong performance oriented culture. Key requirements include:

  • Ability to work with multiple skill levels effectively and build relationships across functions easily
    • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing financial planning process across operational functions
    • Excellent financial modeling, quantitative analysis and problem solving skills, ability to synthesize large volume of data into clear insights
  • Track record of building, leading and inspiring high-performing teams
  • MBA or similar, with 8+ years of finance & planning experience, and at least 3 years in Operational finance, retail experience preferred
