About the Farm:

Fishkill Farms is a 270 acre fruit and vegetable farm in East Fishkill, NY. Our homegrown organic and eco-friendly produce is marketed through our year-round Farm Store and Pick-Your-Own operation and our 400-member CSA, among other outlets. Starting with peas and strawberries and culminating with apples and pumpkins in the Fall, the farm provides family friendly outdoor-fun for the local community. At our peak we host thousands of visitors to the farm daily.

Fishkill Farms is looking for hardworking, reliable individuals who are enthusiastic about sustainable agriculture and furthering our farm's mission of producing sustainably-grown vegetables for the local community to join our vegetable production team and farmers market staff.

Job Description: Vegetable crew members will participate in aspects of farm work including but not limited to planting, weeding, harvesting, washing and packing. In addition, help is needed at our Saturday farmers market in Tarrytown. Market responsibilities include but are not limited to packing and unpacking the truck, market set up, use of registers to ring up customers and proper food safety handling.

Schedule: This is a seasonal, full-time or part-time position beginning April and ending mid-November. Shorter periods of employment may be possible. Workdays run from 7am to 5pm.

Workweek of up to 55 hrs for full-time, Tuesday-Saturday

Qualifications: We seek individuals who are responsible, communicate well with others, and enjoy working hard. You must have the ability and interest to work outdoors in all weather conditions and be able to bend down to perform tasks such as weeding and comfortably and safely lift and carry 50 lbs. Applicants should be ready to take on the demanding pace and inevitable challenges of a farming season with consistency and good humor. Previous experience with farming, gardening or outdoor work is a big plus.

Rate: $13-$15/hr depending on experience
