Milk Street is changing how we cook by searching the world for bold, simple recipes and techniques. Adapted and tested for home cooks everywhere, these lessons are the backbone of what we call the new home cooking. Job description Part Time (20 hours / week)

Christopher Kimball’s Milk Street is seeking a part-time coordinator (20 hours/week) for our livestream virtual cooking school. Successful candidates will have professional cooking experience and/or a culinary education and be extremely organized, calm under pressure, nimble in response to change, and comfortable working with guest chef instructors and speaking in front of audiences of up to 500 students. All Milk Street Cooking School employees draw inspiration from both tradition and innovation and are passionate about student learning. This position reports directly to the Director of Education. This is an entry-level position with ample opportunity for career growth and is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in food media, adult and/or online education, and/or program administration.  Please note that this position requires frequent weeknight commitments, typically 5:30-7:30 p.m. EST, and at least one weekend day per month (weekend time varies).

Responsibilities and Duties
• Maintaining the Education Department’s business- and mission-based goals and strategies
• Moderating livestream cooking classes on weeknights and weekends
• Coordinating preparatory work for cooking classes including marketing materials and lesson plans
• Maintaining highly organized systems for pre- and post-class communication with students
• Answering student cooking questions and responding to customer service inquiries relevant to the cooking school
• Collaborating on development and growth of guest teacher program
• Assisting with private events program development and execution
• Collaborating with colleagues across departments
• Crafting a welcoming and supportive environment for guest teachers
• Helping students discover how to become great and curious home cooks

Experience and Skills
• Professional cooking experience mandatory, as defined by completion of culinary school, work in professional kitchen, professional recipe development, or similar
• Dependable, flexible, self-motivated and hardworking team player
• Superb interpersonal skills with members of the public, colleagues and community partners
• Experience in an educational context, ideally culinary-based classrooms
• Comfort with and excitement for mistakes and failure and the ability to productively learn from both
• Outstanding organizational skills
• Excellent communication, writing and listening skills
• Strong computer skills and a readiness to learn new systems. Existing experience with Eventbrite, Zoom, DropBox, Teachable, Slack, Quip and Google platforms is a plus.

Education:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, ideally in culinary arts or education
