We are hiring a wine director to manage our young and growing wine program! We are looking for someone who is creative, social, warm, and has strong communication skills. A highly organized person who can prioritize between multiple tasks in a busy work environment while still maintaining attention to detail. Someone who is comfortable solving problems without direct supervision. We are a collaborative bunch of mischief makers! Interpersonal skills are a must, along with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
Since the Pantry is a unique place, we don't expect you to have direct experience in all parts of this job. But we do look to see a trajectory on a resume, showing how the Pantry would be your perfect next job. The position is culinary, educational, and administrative, so we're looking for someone with interest in all areas.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Wine Classes
- Develop and teach weekly fun and unique wine classes. The content of these classes is up to you!
- Create informational packets for classes.
- Create ordering spreadsheets for classes.
- Meet with the wine reps to select and order wine.
Wine Pairings for Classes and Dinners
- Select and manage a rotation of monthly pairings in the classrooms and storage, organizing and updating as needed.
- Meet with the wine reps to select and order wine.
Pantry Wine Club
- Research and develop a monthly wine club theme that incorporates a variety of wineries.
- Meet with the wine reps to select and order wine.
- Draft monthly wine club theme write up for newsletter and website.
- Create informational packets for each month’s release.
- Build and manage spreadsheets and registry.
- Manage Wine Club deadlines.
- Communicate packaging/aesthetic needs to the ordering team.
- Prepare and build each month’s wine packs and informational packets.
Administrative
- Receive wine deliveries.
- Manage costs, inventory, and create a plan for overstock.
- Manage customer case sales
- You will be navigating the backend of the website so familiarity with Wordpress is a bonus.
- Be at ease with frequent email communication, filling out spreadsheets, and formatting google documents.
- Maintain all licensure required for the beer and wine program
Various Other Roles:
- Assist classes taught by other instructors.
- The option to contribute any other creative skills you have!
- You will be doing a little bit of everything to keep the Pantry running smoothly. There’s the little stuff too, like putting away orders, organizing the kitchen, and attending regular staff meetings.
Timeline & Schedule:
- Begin September. Stay forever.
- This is a full-time position, with Fridays and Saturdays off.
Salary:
- The salary is $60,000.
- The Pantry provides retirement benefits, a healthcare plan option, 3-weeks paid time off, and parental leave. Bonus: so much good food!
