Grocery Team Member The Meat Hook

The Meat Hook is a whole animal butcher shop that specializes in pasture raised animals and believes in the importance of regenerative agriculture. That means agriculture that focuses on soil health through raising 100% grass fed and grass finished beef, fully pastured heritage pigs, lamb and poultry.

Your job at The Meat Hook is integral in building community, and to the success of the business. Job description Responsibilities include greeting and ringing up customers. Answering the phone. Taking orders over the phone and in person. Communicating customer requests to the butcher team. Stocking shelves and the produce cooler throughout the day. Packaging and handling produce and grocery items. Maintaining a clean work space. Following food safety guidelines. Accurately handling money including opening and closing the register.
Requirements:
Organization skills
Communication skills
Interest in food and agriculture
Grocery, retail, cashier or front of house restaurant experience preferred.
Physical Demands
Be able to lift at least 50 lbs, and be able to push/pull a minimum of 25 lbs.
Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and co-workers.
Be able to stand and walk for 8 hours or more depending on business needs.
Hours per week: 40
