We are currently looking for a Senior Product Developer, Meat.

The Senior Product Developer will be part of NotCo’s U.S. R&D team reporting to the R&D Director. This position is located in the NYC area.

Specifically, they will:

• Create delicious plant-based meat products that delight consumers and are in compliance with regulatory, nutritional, and quality requirements
• Design and execute bench-top tests and pilot-plant trials to deliver high-quality food products with superior sensory attributes
• Use sensory and instrumental analysis to guide the development process
• Participate in the full product lifecycle, from product concept to successful commercial launch
• Support process development, scale-up, and technology transfer
• Leverage external resources to identify potential raw material solutions, conduct pilot test, sensory analyses, and positively influence project timelines 
• Maintain detailed documentation, experiment tracking, and outcomes, and document finished good specifications
• Communicate proactively and effectively with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Quality, Sales, and Operations
• Collaborate closely with the Global R&D team and corporate functions to accelerate knowledge transfer, troubleshooting, and commercialization efforts

Requirements:

• A Bachelor of Science Degree in science, food science, engineering, or related field and relevant R&D experience is required, a Masters degree is a plus
• 5 - 7 years of experience in R&D in the food industry; previous work developing and commercializing plant-based meat products is required
• Proficient understanding of the principles, ingredients, methods, equipment, and techniques used in plant-based meat manufacturing
• Proven track record of innovative research and developments projects
• Strong technical project management skills
• Strong organizational, data analysis, record keeping, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams
• Highly proficient in computer software/desktop applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience with Genesis R&D a plus
• Able to travel in the U.S. and internationally (up to 25%)
• Possess strong presentation and relationship building skills
• Curious, logical, and action-oriented
• Passion for working in a fast-paced environment and a proven ability to multi-task
• Excel in a start-up environment and excited to create new procedures and processes from scratch, with a strong entrepreneurial mindset
• Be agile, adaptable, and thrive in a dynamic and changing culture
• Authorization to work in the U.S. required
