Cheeky Cocktails is a year-old cocktail mixer company producing a line of mix-and-match, bar-quality syrups and juices shipped from our Brooklyn headquarters directly to your door. In our first year of business our mixers have been recognized in the New York Times, the Washington Post, Men’s Journal, Vinepair, and others. Our business has grown exponentially since launch; serving some of the world's largest spirits companies, and powering happy hours for Fortune 500 and 100 businesses, non-profits, marketing + PR agencies, and more.  We have big dreams for Cheeky, and develop all of our recipes and educational content in-house. All our products are made using all 100% natural ingredients, with no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives.

Job description

Cheeky is looking to hire an Operations Manager for our facility in Brooklyn, NY. We're looking for someone warm, nurturing, and fun, who means business and gets the job done! We all wear a lot of hats, so the role requires a willingness and flexibility to do a range of activities from managing fulfillment, to overseeing staff, troubleshooting supply chain, sales and customer service, and working with ownership to scale-up and outsource critical elements of the business. As a fast-growing startup, our business is changing drastically each month, and we are in the process of fully outsourcing manufacturing, and certain elements of fulfillment. 

 

This is a part to full-time, on-site (not remote) position.

 

Responsibilities 

The Operations Manager would be responsible for the following 

  • (If full-time) Open/Close Brooklyn facility M-F 10am-6pm
  • Work with owner to hire and train staff, write schedules, maintain all HR documents
  • Proactively identify areas of operational inefficiencies. Work with owner and Cheeky team to monitor and optimize COGS
  • Place routine orders for supplies and inventory
  • Troubleshoot issues with vendors, suppliers, freight carriers
  • Take the lead on addressing and fixing any machinery, fixtures and equipment issues, with the support of Owner
  •  Monitor expenses/coordinate accounts payable and receivable with Bookkeeper
  • Generally provide operational support to Ownership
  • Provide client/customer service/sales support
  • Fulfill or oversee fulfillment of ecommerce and corporate bulk orders 
  • Ensure that e-commerce orders are shipped out accurately and on schedule
  • Maintain product inventory 
  • Maintain an organized office environment 
  • Additional SOP development and paperwork as needed 
 

Qualifications 

  • Experience as Operations Manager, General Manager, or COO in a startup, CPG, restaurant, or food manufacturing environment a must
  • Fluency with finance and HR software (Quickbooks and Gusto or similar)
  • Positive and proactive attitude 
  • Great sense of humor; ability to take challenges in stride
  • Desire to elevate, coach, and support team members
  • Strong work ethic 
  • Excellent communicator 
  • Curious with a strong desire to learn
  • Hospitality-minded & client service focused
  • Desire to work in a fast paced and growing company
  • Creative and analytical thinker
  • Organized and able to implement organizational systems
  • Tech savvy. Minimally proficient in Excel, and willing and able to learn new computer software  
  • Ability to work standing for extended time in a warehouse environment
  • Ability to lift and move cases of product, up to 50 pounds 
  • Experience in the hospitality or CPG industry a must, an interest in the cocktail space an asset
Compensation this position is : hourly, $20/hr + Application instructions
