We’ve learned from our 20 years in NYC’s coffee scene how to provide an exceptional cup to our customers. We source all our coffee from small producers and hand select freshly harvested lots. We’re proud to maintain these long term, sustainable relationships at origin.

Seasonal batches are received throughout the year at our New York facility, roasted to order, and promptly shipped. We maintain these standards to achieve the highest quality and flavor.

Job description

Overview:

Irving Farm Coffee Roasters is hiring a full-time service technician to work out of our service shop in Manhattan. We have a strong company culture, and an ideal candidate will appreciate working as part of a team and delivering a consistently positive experience to wholesale customers. 

Job Purpose: Support wholesale customers with focus on technical skills and knowledge.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Act as primary contact person for existing wholesale partners to:

Troubleshoot & diagnose issues, and facilitate solutions.
Schedule and perform preventative maintenance service calls.
Field service related inquiries.
Provide training in coffee preparation and equipment maintenance.
Document all work performed for wholesale customers, including movement of inventory items.               
Assist in maintaining organized and tidy service shop.
Maintain knowledge of coffee offerings and company story/vision.
Maintain periodic weekend availability.
Execute equipment installations.
 

Desired Skills and Experience:

Proficiency in preparing filter and espresso coffee beverages in a specialty coffee environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication, both with customers and co-workers.

Professional experience as a coffee equipment technician in a specialty coffee environment. 

Compensation: $23 per hour
