Rosemont Market & Bakery ian award-winning, independently owned business dedicated to cultivating community through local food. Our mission extends from our Portland-based production and warehouse facility to our six local markets in the Greater Portland region. This summer, we are excited to expand our offerings with a new Rosemont experience: The Rosemont Market & Wine Bar at Thompson’s Point. This modern space will feature a grab-and-go style market, as well as a full-service wine bar showcasing our robust and intentionally curated wine program.  

Our wines are intentionally sourced from around the globe to include only products that offer the best flavor, a great story, and are produced using sustainable practices. We focus on small-scale agriculture and emphasize organic and biodynamic methods whenever possible. We seek to demonstrate diversity in our winemaker representation, and we are always on the lookout for new and interesting wines to bring to our community. Our bar menu will also highlight rotating, seasonally-driven small plates and pairings to our hand-picked wines. Behind the broad, 40-seat marble bar, our knowledgeable bartenders will guide our guest experience with trusted recommendations and superb service. We are seeking friendly, passionate, experienced, wine-focused bartenders to join the team at Rosemont Market & Wine Bar this July.  

Job description

The Bartender will provide exceptional customer service, experience, and wine education, and is responsible for opening, operating and closing the Wine Bar with the support of other bartenders and back-of-house staff. The ideal candidate would have a passion for wine and local food systems as well as relevant hospitality experience. He/she/they must be motivated, engaging, and team oriented 

  • The Wine Bar will be open Wednesday-Sunday. Shifts will run between 2pm-10pm Wednesday-Thursday, and 10am-10pm Friday-Sunday.  
  • We are hiring for Full-Time and Part-Time positions. Please indicate your preference in your application. 
  • Private Events may be booked during non-business hours and may impact shift schedule for eligible bartending staff.

  • Hourly wage of $15.50/hr + Tips

Required Skills/Experience: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent 
  • At least one year of prior professional bartending experience, with a preference for upscale dining & wine-focused experience 
  • Have (or be willing to acquire within 90 day of hire) Maine’s Alcohol Seller & Server Certification, or approved equivalent 
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment 
  • A positive attitude and the ability to communicate efficiently and professionally with all other Wine Bar staff and the Wine Bar Chef in a customer-facing setting to meet our superior hospitality standards 


Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. carton or bag 
  • Ability to stay standing and active for duration of shift 
  • Ability to bend, lift, twist, squat, and reach
