About the Role

The Director of Learning and Development will design and implement high-impact and sustainable learning and talent development programs that span across the employee lifecycle.  This role will require a close partnership with Red Rabbit’s senior leadership to understand the skills and knowledge needed at each level of the company to advance our mission and support individual growth. 

 

Strong candidates should have significant experience in previous Learning and Development roles, which includes building/delivering training modules and working one-on-one with employees.  Emphasis is placed on candidates’ communication skills and knowledge of best practices for adult learning.  Additionally, candidates should be passionate about Red Rabbit’s mission. 

 

Critical Functions

  • Learning Management:  Spearhead the development and implementation of a comprehensive training program for Red Rabbit’s management team.  Work closely with staff to create exciting and immersive training modules, including an overall scope and sequence for delivery.  Revisit modules as needed to ensure they are meeting current needs.
 
  • Employee Development & Engagement:  Deeply understand how Red Rabbit’s org chart is expanding over the next 1-5 years and map the company’s needs to the growth trajectories of our staff.  Create skill-specific development plans to help staff achieve their maximum potential within the changing structures.  Partner with leadership and managers to continuously review individual development needs.
 
  • L&D Codification and Expansion:  Integrate learning and development into all phases of the employee experience, beginning with onboarding.  Research and implement learning management tools and systems.  Monitor the success of development programs using data driven metrics.  Over time, build out the L&D team, which may include adding FTEs, consultants, and/or outside trainers.
 

Skills & Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in a Learning and Development role and 5+ years of experience directly managing a team.
  • Prior experience implementing a Learning Management System.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management and process improvement skills
  • Excellent written, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  • Must share our passion improving nutrition in schools and see our work through the lens of social justice and equity

Job Type: Full time

Location: Harlem, NY

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Compensation:  $80,000 - $100,000
