Job description We are a busy cafe and catering company looking for full time lead event chef in anticipation of a busy fall season. Candidates should have at least one year of experience in a professional New York kitchen and/or on-site event catering. Above all, we are looking for someone with a strong work ethic who is willing to learn the way we do things, match our established aesthetic, and maintain our high standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- managing all full-service events
- prepping for events at Poppy’s kitchen
- assisting in packing/loading out for events at Poppy’s kitchen + off-site on location
- hiring + training all freelance event chefs
- coordinating seasonal menu tastings with the sales team
- managing tastings for potential clients + events
- ordering + inventory for specialty items for specific events
- committing to the Poppy’s aesthetic when producing food for events
- helping out wherever else may be needed to produce events
EXPECTATIONS:
- on-site event catering and/or restaurant experience required
- able to follow plating + recipe instructions accurately + cleanly

SCHEDULE + COMPENSATION:
Full-time. Must be able to work nights and weekends. $35+ per hour depending on experience.
While performing the duties of the job in our kitchen, you are required to stand and walk; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. You must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Compensation this position is : hourly, $20/hr + Application instructions
