Company description Meaty hosts fun, immersive, accessible learning experiences that empower people to make more mindful meat choices. Our classes are run by a group of butchers, chefs, and eaters that have come together to change the way people think about, buy, and prepare meat. Our mission is to help people become more active participants in their local food system by providing them with the skills and information they need to seek out meat that’s better for their health, the environment, and their communities. Job description Meaty is looking for an Experience Coordinator (EC) to plan, prepare, facilitate and manage follow-up communications for our classes. The EC will be the main point of contact for students, responsible for the overall organization and operation of the class, and serve as ‘emcee’ during classes alongside Instructors. As an early member of the team, we will also count on you to bring your values, ideas, and experiences to bear in shaping the culture and strategy of our fledgling organization.

What you’ll do:

  • Serve as main point of contact for Meaty classes and events
  • Manage event logistics from start to finish, including pre- and post-class
  • Host classes (virtually and eventually in-person) alongside an instructor
  • Own client experience during classes, addressing issues as they arise
  • Provide operational support and handle administrative details of Meaty events
  • Develop and foster relationships with customers, farmers, instructors and partners
  • Answer emails, phone calls, and/or texts promptly, kindly, and professionally
  • Compile pre- and post-class feedback and create reports about feedback
  • Analyze, and integrate feedback from past classes to improve program quality
  • Communicate with the Meaty team on a regular basis
  • Advocate for better meat and changing our food systems
  • Other administrative and organizational support activities, as needed

What you’ll bring:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to relate well to others and build appropriate rapport
  • Attentive to details while managing time and administrative tasks
  • Organized and able to manage multiple projects at once
  • Experience with, knowledge of, or personal interest in local, sustainable food systems
  • Comfortable with public speaking; formal training is a plus.
  • Comfort with communicating with people via email, phone, and text
  • Enjoy meeting with and talking to new people
  • Emotional intelligence; the ability to ‘read a room’
  • Experienced in working with Google Suite, Zoom, and spreadsheets
  • Committed to Meaty’s values; including promoting social, racial, economic, and environmental justice

What to expect:

  • Meaty is in its very early stages, and we’re looking for someone that is excited to contribute to its ongoing development. We promise to communicate early and often about any operational or organizational changes.
  • This position will begin as a part-time contractor role, with the hope that as we add more classes, we can transition to a full-time employee role.

If you have experience and skill sets not listed that can be useful for the position, we want to hear about them. Women, BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, and members of other minority or marginalized groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

Compensation this position is : hourly, $15-20/hr Application instructions
