The Assistant Manager is responsible for oversight of the entire retail operation at Dépanneur, assisting with making coffee, sandwiches, delivery, catering, and retail.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage a diverse staff in keeping the busy retail space running smoothly
- Assist in training, scheduling, mentoring, and motivating staff, maintaining clear and consistent communication among the store team
- Work to increase overall profitability by driving sales, managing waste, and controlling inventory
- Provide outstanding customer service, leading the team by example
- Assist in overseeing catering, working to ensure consistency of product and increase sales
- Work with kitchen supervisor to produce and procure delicious and exciting products of the highest quality
- Maintain the highest level of food safety and sanitation standards according to the DOA
- Order necessary supplies
- Assist purchasing manager in staff product training
Requirements:
- Must love food!
- Understand all local, state and federal health codes, maintaining the best safety and sanitation standards
- Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food service production
- Strong knowledge of coffee and barista operations
- Minimum of 2 years in a specialty retail leadership position
- Must be able to lift 40lbs and stand for at least 4 hours at a time
