ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a Sourcing Coordinator (CA) based in LA. Our ideal candidate is well organized and self-motivated. You will be providing sales and accounts support, closely monitor costs and margins for sales generating from CA and coordinate logistics for distributors and retail customers in the US. You will also be responsible for hands-on product pick-ups and drop-offs at farms/markets and 3PLs, support our Buyer (CA) with communication with farms and other sourcing related activities. Role will report to Head of Region with a dotted line to Buyer (CA).

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DAY-TO-DAY DUTIES

  • Support buying dept on order placement to suppliers and other in-house admin tasks
  • Drive refrigerated commercial van to farms and/or farmers markets for product pick-ups
  • Timely communicate any shortages or quality issues at points of pick-up
  • Learn to identify product packing for quality and optimal transport
  • Issue delivery and shipping documentation as needed
  • Perform shipment drop-offs to our cross-docking or freight forwarding locations
  • Report vehicle metrics, schedule maintenance, ensure unit is fueled, sanitized, ready for use
  • Research and compile farms and product content for our seasonal news and product repository
  • Closely work with our UK, Milan and NY hubs to coordinate orders of imported products
  • Communicate as needed with 3PLs for transport reservations and timely logistics
  • Liaise directly with selected US accounts to ensure timely booking and delivery of orders
  • Manage order confirmations and prepare shipping documentation as needed
  • Gather and maintain accurate food and transport costs of imported and domestic products
  • Closely monitor margins to ensure targets are achieved and timely corrections applied
  • Create and update price lists as well as seasonal product presentation decks as needed
  • Issue sales volume and other reports per account as required

 

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Our ideal candidate is hard working, driven to deliver and has the following traits:

  • Curiosity to learn and the ability to grow
  • Experience in fresh produce and interest in food systems is a plus
  • Pricing analysis and QuickBooks experience a plus
  • Strong customer service, account management and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Strong time management skills, attention to detail and ability to perform under tight deadlines
  • Must be 21 years or older, able to drive a commercial van and possess a CA driver’s license
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs into and out of vehicle
  • Proficiency in Excel and G-Suite preferred, Adobe PS and Keynote knowledge a plus
  • Candidates must show proof that they can legally work in the US
