University of Maine Cooperative Extension invites applications for a full-time (40-hours per week), fiscal-year, soft-money, federally funded Nutrition Education Professional for the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP). The position will be based in the Kennebec County Cooperative Extension office in Augusta, ME. The position will supervise, manage, train, and assess performance of 3-4 Community Education Assistants (CEAs) who directly deliver EFNEP in Central Maine. The person in this position will be responsible for assisting the State EFNEP Coordinator in leading policy, systems and environmental (PSE) changes that complement nutrition education delivered by EFNEP CEAs to improve the health of Maine’s low-income families and youth. This position will also be responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training for EFNEP CEAs locally and statewide on a variety of nutrition related topics. The person in this position will onboard and train new EFNEP CEA staff and work to connect EFNEP staff with agencies and/or programs that serve a similar audience as EFNEP. Salary range for this position is $38,000 to 40,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications.
