ABOUT THE POSITION
As LuckyBolt's Chef you’ll helm LuckyBolt's farm-to-table kitchen, producing an offering of "everyday" fare that showcases the beauty and freshness of the ingredients that we use. As Chef you'll be responsible for the overall health of the kitchen, which means maintaining an environment that is happy, productive, organized, and clean. You will also maintain relationships with LuckyBolt's suppliers, keeping in constant communication with them. Your creative and organizational skills will enable you to control costs, ensuring nothing goes to waste. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Above all you must care a great deal about all aspects of LuckyBolt's operation because you help set the standard for the rest of the team.
  • Organize the production of LuckyBolt's menu, ensuring excellence in quality of our product.
  • Drive the process of developing new menu items.
  • Maintain a library of recipes in our central system.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and farmers.
  • Manage food and labor costs to keep within the budget targets.
  • Manage and mentor kitchen staff, constantly driving everyone to hone their craft.
  • Build the team's weekly schedule.
  • Ensure that the kitchen is kept impeccably clean and organized.
  • Ensure daily/weekly checklists are followed.
  • Maintain all equipment and coordinate repairs as needed.
  • Interview and train new hires.
WHAT WE REQUIRE:
  • Must pay very close attention to all the little detials. Having a good sense of humor is helpful, too.
  • Associate Degree in Culinary Arts (Bachelor's preferred)
  • 2-3 yeas of experience in a similar supervisory role or a recommendation from a reputable colleague, who believes you're ready to take on this role
  • Track record as a creative problem solver
  • Experience producing high-quality food
  • Proficiency with a variety of international cuisines and dietary regimens
  • Track record of successfully managing food and labor costs
  • Deep knowledge of proper food handling and safety standards
  • Food Safety Managers certificate
  • Comfortable approaching work with a sense of urgency while maintaining an even keel
  • Ability to appreciate a wide variety of music
  • Comfortable using a computer and other modern technologies
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Professional appearance and good hygiene
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. comfortably
  • Expect to work 5 days/week for about 40-50 hrs. We work during the daytime and go home before the sun sets.
