access to affordable, fresh, healthy, local food in Colorado. GoFarm fulfills this mission by running three programs: Local Food Share, Community Food Access, and Farmer Assistance.

The Local Food Share program (LFS) works with over 40 farms to operate a multi-farm,  Community Supported Agriculture program—or CSA—where community members get a weekly
or biweekly share of local, sustainably-grown food during the spring, summer and fall seasons. Participants pick up their food from distribution locations located throughout Jefferson County
in Golden, Arvada, and Evergreen. The Community Food Access program (CFA) makes healthy, local food more affordable and accessible in our community. We partner with community
organizations to manage tailored projects that address healthy food access at a systems level. Lastly, the Farmer Assistance program (FA) supports new and beginning farmers in establishing

Compensation: $42,000 - $46,500 annually

Position Summary:

GoFarm is hiring a Farmer Assistance Program Manager to manage all projects under our Farmer Assistance (FA) program. The program seeks to support local and beginning farmers in building farming careers and businesses by providing training and education, peer mentorship, access to land and other resources, community building and networking opportunities, and by supporting local farming-focused policy efforts. This program aims to reduce barriers to entry for aspiring farmers, especially for farmers identifying as BIPOC, LGBTQ+, or veterans.

The Farmer Assistance Program Manager will be responsible for managing and evaluating existing projects, planning and implementing new projects, and developing and maintaining
partnerships that support GoFarm’s mission and the goals of the Farmer Assistance program.

This position will work with the Executive Director as the lead on program-related grant applications and reports, and will be responsible for program-related budgeting and financial
management.

Primary Responsibilities:
● Demonstrate a strong commitment to equity within the program as well as the
organization.
● Coordinate the GoFarm Incubator
     o  Lead the recruitment and admission process for the 3 tracks of the incubator (incubator farmers, externs, and interns)
     o Coordinate the 16-week Whole Farm training and education course from October-March, including teaching classes and/or coordinating guest presenters
     o Plan and execute monthly on-farm workshops from March-October.
     o Provide on-site technical assistance in agricultural production and business development and conduct regular check-ins with GoFarm Incubator participants
     o Coordinate and train farmer mentors to work with incubator farmers
     o Supervise and schedule seasonal interns
● Seek out new funding opportunities and lead the grant writing and reporting process for those opportunities
● Meet the objectives and reporting requirements for all existing program grants
● Develop strategic vision, goals, and metrics associated with the FA program
● Lead annual budget development for FA program, and monitor monthly expenses for the program
● Evaluate the FA program on an annual basis and report findings to GoFarm staff, partners, and program funders
● Work with project partners on the Jeffco Land Access Project including community outreach to connect with landowners, conducting site visits to assess the viability of farming sites, and assisting with the creation of lease agreements
● Manage and coordinate farmer resources such as the GoFarm Tool Rental Program (tool maintenance, rental coordination, reporting, etc.)
● Plan and implement community building and networking opportunities for local farmers
● Work with partners on local policy issues impacting farmers, and stay up to date on state and national policy that impacts the farming community
● Maintain existing partnerships, recruit new partners, and implement new projects that will enhance and benefit the FA program

Skills and Qualifications of Ideal Candidates:
● Willingness and commitment to continued professional development to strengthen capacity to work through an equity lens for social, economic, and racial justice
● Passion for and commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible land-use practices
● Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, sustainable food systems, nonprofit administration, or a related field
● 2-5 years experience with program management
● 3+ years experience growing and selling specialty crops using sustainable farming practices
● Confidence in discussing programs with funders
● Minimum of three years grant writing, reporting, and management
● Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, Google Suite, and Adobe programs with a willingness to learn and adopt new software and online tools
● Self-directed, able to take initiative, and demonstrated attention to detail and program management
● Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and comfortable working with diverse groups of community stakeholders
● Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize appropriately
● Comfortable with ambiguity, flexible, willing to learn, and passionate about food equity and sustainable food systems
● Creative problem-solver with a desire to continuously improve the FA program based on participant feedback and new opportunities
● Strong leadership, diplomacy, interpersonal skills, and ability to show empathy

Work Environment:
This position will require a mix of office and fieldwork to plan and manage the FA program. The GoFarm staff shares office space and promotes a fun and collaborative team culture. Applicants
should be self-motivated and able to work independently, but can expect significant support from the Executive Director and the rest of the GoFarm staff. Applicants will need their own
reliable transportation, as well as a valid US Driver’s License with a clean driving record for insurance purposes. Applicants must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
